After a day of serious mental flossing (pondering questions like: Would an app have saved Trayvon Martin’s life? Can humans survive mass extinction? Will we welcome our robot overlords?) at Uncharted: The Berkeley Festival of Ideas, the brainiacs in attendance are going to be ready to revel.
Yep, tickets to the Bay Area’s first ever ideas festival (cheaper than TED, and closer than Aspen), include a big bash in the modernist, cathedral-like atrium of the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive.
The party is on Friday Oct. 25, 5:00-7:30pm, and all badge-holding festival-goers are on the guest list!
Party-goers will have the chance to cheers the festival’s mind-bending speakers in the flesh, and partake of some locavorious libations and vittles.
The spread – think chive and cheddar frittatas, grilled lime-chicken brochettes, mini BLTs with basil aioli, and an abundance of sweet treats – will be complemented with eminently quaffable wines by Oakland’s premier APS Wine & Spirits, chilled beer from the East Bay’s Drake’s Brewing Company, and delicious non-alcoholic drinks from Vignette Wine Country Soda.
Then we’ll all get foot loose and fancy free with Berkeley-based powerhouse band Pellejo Seco, an authentic Cuban jazz band known to get to even the most uncoordinated of intelligentsia on the dance floor.
See you there?
