See what 2013’s attendees had to say about Uncharted

The 2014 Uncharted Festival of Ideas is just 15 days away! To count things down, we’re sharing some testimonials from attendees from last year’s inaugural Festival.

“Thank you so much for all your hard-work, preparations and for creating an intellectual forum for folks in the East Bay. No doubt like many professionals, I tend to focus on the island of my work and it was a thrill to look up, meet people and broaden my horizons of what’s going on in Berkeley.”

“Thank you! I attended both days, and it was a blast. Not only were the speakers amazing (I loved the quick pace and the diversity of topics), but the whole experience was seamlessly organized, flowing effortlessly from one session to the next. I appreciated that all of the logistics were very carefully planned out (for instance the shuttle to take us to the Party on Friday evening), which made the two days effortless. I was also sensitive to the great human atmosphere that radiated from the staff, all the very helpful and smiling volunteers to point us in the right direction.”

“I really enjoyed it. I particularly appreciated Mr. Knobel’s direct encouragement for people to talk with people we don’t know. I attended alone and though I knew some folks there, that invitation made a difference in my experience. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make it all happen.”

“Nearly all the speakers were able to or create the impression that these were genuine conversations, not speeches, which makes everything much more interesting.”
