CEO, JCC of the East Bay
Amy Tobin is CEO of the JCC East Bay. Tobin, a nationally recognized Jewish leader, has worked with nonprofit community, arts, and social change organizations for 20 years. She joined the JCC after six years as founding Executive Director of Berkeley’s David Brower Center, an award-winning destination for environmental and social action. Previously, Amy was the founding Artistic Director of The Hub at the JCCSF, where she created community among Jewish young adults through the arts.
A musician and social entrepreneur, Amy’s expertise includes organizational development, mission-driven real estate, philanthropic partnerships, and community development. Her work is consistently driven by her passion for connecting people through meaningful, inspiring experiences in physical gathering spaces.
Amy received the Gerbode Foundation fellowship in 2012 and the Joshua Venture fellowship for Jewish social entrepreneurs in 2001. She has served on boards and advisory boards for the Nonprofit Centers Network, Downtown Berkeley Association, Progressive Jewish Alliance, Joshua Venture Group, and Be’chol Lashon. She was selected as one of the “Forward 50” in 2002 by the Forward newspaper, and was as a keynote speaker in 2002 at the General Assembly of the Jewish Federations of North America, the annual gathering of Jewish Federations.
