Sinead Griffin

Exploring science, from high energy physics to condensed matter

Sinead Griffin is a postdoctoral fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab and UC Berkeley. Her PhD was obtained from the ETH, Switzerland, having commenced her studies at UC Santa Barbara. Her PhD work in the Spaldin group (now called Materials Theory), investigated novel physics in hexagonal manganites and ferropnictides using both first principles methods and analytical techniques.

She is originally from Ireland, where she completed her B.A. in Theoretical Physics at Trinity College Dublin. Following that, she spent a year in London at Imperial College for her MSc in Quantum Fields and Fundamental Forces.

Her interests in science are broad and varied; from high energy physics to condensed matter.
